With the news of Kirsten Storms taking a break from General Hospital as she moved cross-country, fans have been waiting to see how they would temporarily write Maxie out. Now, the August 18, 2025 episode tease what may happen to the fashionista.

Maxie’s Moment
Maxie (Storms) has been a kay player in Deception for years now. She supported the cosmetic company when it re-launched, during their many Faces of Deception, and all its stock market highs and lows. But the company’s latest decision has been something Maxie can’t live with.
After finding out that Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) investment was made with dirty money, the Deception ladies had a decision to make: turn Sonny in, or keep quiet to save their company.
Ultimately, Lucy (Lynn Herring), Tracy (Jane Elliot), and Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) outweighed Maxie’s vote to turn Sonny in. They decided it would be best for everyone if they kept quiet, but being the Chief of Detectives’ pseudo-daughter, Maxie had other plans.
Before Deception’s latest appearance on Home & Heart, Maxie had an important chat with Martin (Michael E. Knight). She discussed her options, and ultimately decided she should speak with the DA about what’s going on at Deception.
But things took a turn later on during Deception’s Home & Heart appearance. While Lucy chatted up the viewers, just as Maxie gave Deception’s new Youth Truth serum a try, she suddenly staggered and collapsed to the floor on live television.

Suspects
If Maxie was purposefully targeted, all signs lead to Sidwell (Carlo Rota). He had what he garnered as an intriguing conversation with James (Gary James Fuller) at the pool after finding out he’s Maxie’s son.
He learned that Maxie recently spoke with her Chief of Detectives’ father figure Mac (John J. York) about something related to Deception, a company Sidwell has been highly involved with.
Of course, things could go another direction for Maxie. The character’s initial storyline on GH was her heart failure in 1994.
Maxie would have succumbed to the diagnosis if it wasn’t for receiving BJ’s (Brighton Hertford) heart after BJ died in a bus accident. It’s been three decades since Maxie got the transplant, but if a complication has arisen, it could certainly cause a sudden collapse.
